Today is my Dad's 50th birthday! We are going to have a nice little weekend at my friend Kristin's wedding and then my parents are heading off to Florence. Lucky! If you know him, make sure to wish him a happy day!
Last night I turned one of my teapot sketches into a painting. It's a 5 x 5 x 1.5" canvas, which is a fun little size to work on. I've been experimenting with layering several gel and matte mediums to give the look of encaustic painting, which I find really thrilling, since I haven't gotten around to working with wax. Yet.
Lastly, a stitched wall piece I made using scraps of faux leathers and suedes. I don't necessarily recommend hand stitching these materials.
